Talk about "Must See TV." 
Chris Weber reported earlier that Late Show host David Letterman was incensed that John McCain bailed on a taping of his show to air tonight, ostensibly to rush back to Washington, DC, to save the economy.
On Countdown tonight, though, Keith Olbermann reported additional details, like the fact that McCain actually bailed on Letterman to sit for an interview with Katie Couric. He also reported that Letterman played the Couric interview on an on-camera monitor, yelling at the screen, "Can I give you a ride to the airport?"
How did Olbermann know all of this? Because he was the guest tapped as a replacement for John McCain. It seems that when the phone rings in a crisis, Keith Olbermann passes the test.
Sarah Palin, watch out! Olbermann is just waiting for you to screw up so he can jump in. McCain/Keith 2008!
