What was telling October 16th -- the day after Wednesday's "last nail in the coffin" debate -- was the shift in the McCain road show line up.
Sure it makes sense at this point that McCain and Palin would be separately deployed. At the same time though, with the last shred of Palin's credibility giving way, the (fading and aging) picture from Pennsylvania yesterday was: Sarah and First Dude out, Mom and Joe-mentum (who McCain wanted riding shotgun all along) in.
Just look at those front row faces by the way. Maybe it's just the instant, but by most measures, all remaining air is rushing out of the balloon.
